The s value labels the distribution source; it is not an API key. Keep the same MCP connection for the second task so the visit can be measured as one external identity. If your client strips URL parameters, send X-MCP-Source with the same source value.

Free beta setup. No personal API key is needed. If your MCP client automatically adds an Authorization header, remove it for this server and retry; free_beta_key_disabled means the key was rejected before the task ran.

Keep both JSON responses. The second successful call within 24 hours is the retention signal we use to improve the product. Failed calls are not treated as successful work; do not send API keys or private documents.

When you need page text

web_search is the reliable first step for current external sources. Use fetch_page only after you have a public URL: it fetches server-rendered pages directly from mainland China, so a foreign route, HTTP 404/403/429, or JavaScript-only page can return a structured error with suggested_next. Follow that alternative (search, browser, API, or a lighter URL) instead of retrying the same unreachable address.
